About

I am an unabashed History nerd. I own it. I was a History major in college, earned an advanced degree, and have been fortunate to make a career in the field. I am not a history buff. I never liked that term. I always thought it silly and slightly condescending. What is a buff anyway? You don’t refer to a fan of baseball as a baseball buff. My love of history dates back to my childhood. I can remember pouring endlessly over the twenty volume set of American Heritage history books my parents purchased for me from the Sears and Roebucks catalogue back in the mid-70s. To me understanding history was to know why the world was the way it was and how it worked. My love for history books hasn’t waned since then. Walk through my house and you are likely stumble across a pile of books on the Vietnam War, the Hapsburg Monarchy, or the French Revolution. One day I might actually finish reading them all. Lastly, a giant thank you to my beautiful wife and son, whom I have dragged across every battlefield and historical site East of the Mississippi. Thank you for indulging my passion and encouraging me to reach for the stars.
